I've learned something interesting about the invention of agriculture recently -- I'm not well adapted to it. I recently developed Type 2 (adult onset) diabetes, and it was transitioning from hypothetical to annoying, when I discovered research that suggests that a paleo diet leads to normal blood glucose.

I've entirely given up wheat, rye, barley, and milk, and feel much better. Should have done this years ago. Blood sugar is down. Almost no gut pain, almost no joint pain, either.

Given that my European ancestors migrated to the Atlantic region 30,000 years before the invention of agriculture, and my North American ancestors never ate wheat, rye, barley or milk, either, we never adapted to these foodstuffs, which can be very allergenic for some.

Speaking of PNG (Papua New Guinea), research done in Kitava on humans who eat a non-Western diet suggests no heart disease.
