Probably Bay Area for sure. But...

80K people in the county, maybe 30K in the 4 incorporated towns. L'ville school district is at least 400 sq. miles, almost 10X SF City/County, has about 5K people.
However, Todd has talked to a lot of the oldtimers, and was told that, when the Depression hit, all the deer in the area were hunted out in 6 months. Don't know what the population was then, but couldn't have been that great. They didn't even get phone lines up here until around '48.
The cowboy next door to me (and his Indian cowgirl) have about 50 head of cattle they are grazing on another neighbor's ranch. I figure I can help them protect the herd, and maybe get meat that way. Plus trade fruit, and veggies, if necessary.
Plus, my sons one one parcel which is 270 acres, and capable of support some cattle. But it is maybe 15 miles from the fruit trees.
