It covers all of physics. What you don't seem to understand is that doesn't make heat transfer the same subject as thermodynamics. Its like saying English Literature is the same subject as English grammar because English grammar shows how to construct a good sentence for a book.

Your going downhill Pal. Thermodynamics does not cover all physics. Gravity, Electromagnetics, Quantum Mechanics, etc are not Thermodynamics.

Heat Transfer is to Thermodynamics as English poetry is to English Literature. A subset of the whole.

So are you an engineer or an assistant librarian?

Heat transfer is a subset of thermodynamics. Circuit analysis is a subset of electromagnetism.

You don't normally study thermodynamics unless you have already covered heat transfer, and you don't normally study electromagnetism unless you have already covered circuit analysis.

Likewise you don't study relativity theory until you study Newtons laws of gravity.

Normally that is. I don't know how librarians study the subject matter.
