I used photons as they are the discrete quanta of electromagnetic radiation.

But poor old dufus, your task was to accomplish it without radiation. I am heartened considerably that you are wise enough to understand that photons are in fact radiation, so now could you avoid using them, and stick to convection from a cooler source to a hotter greenhouse?
