What's he doing signing up for a multi-hundred thousand dollar loan that he doesn't understand? That's pretty dopey.

Because I'm a politician, I'm going to make YOU pay for his stupidity and look like I'm a politician that cares for people and you should vote for me.

He's responsible for his decisions.

You just posted a fundamental building block of the neomarxist movement. You cannot hold people responsible if someone else with deep pockets you don't like can be help responsible. Once you plant the seed and convince a large voting block of the population it isn't their fault they are not rich, the hate continues to grow. But you already know all of that, the career grad students will not publicly recognize it.

He didn't understand the mechanics behind the resetting but figured his rate would not go up by much more more that a percent or percent and half.

What's he doing signing up for a multi-hundred thousand dollar loan that he doesn't understand? That's pretty dopey.

Maybe but he wanted to participate in the American dream...which includes homeownership. You would be surprised how many people don't understand how real estate loans work.

<However, you can't fault him for wanting to share in the American dream......he just didn't realize how much everything was stacked against him.

In your story there was nothing stacked against him. Sounds like he had the same opportunities as others in his situation, opportunities which 90% of the world population does not have.

Huh? Two tours in Iraq and a kid with cystic fibrosis. Even an Ayn Randian has to have some empathy. No?

Meanwhile he's in foreclosure.....all their savings are gone. Do we let them become homeless?

Sounds like the decisions he made produced his homelessness, if it comes to that. He's responsible for his decisions. The people that did not get married, did not have two children and did not take out a mortgage on a house that they can't afford shouldn't pay for his poor decision making. That would be penalizing the prudent to reward the foolish.

I guess empathy is in short supply in Dubai. Sorry I bothered you with such 'nonsense'.
