Actually, that is precisely what all the science says it does. But see how difficult it was to get you to the point of even understanding what the process was correctly. I have no intention of now trying to persuade you that all the complex science which gives this answer is correct. We are talking about 2-4W/m2 as causing this. It is very small compared to the total input and output radiation. That is how significant "balance" is , and the result of shifting the balance a little higher by doubling CO2 is what this story is all about.
