My expenses are less than any of the mutual funds and I have very good stock diversification. I expect I have saved at least 1% per year in mutual fund (imputed) expense fees. I have sold all of my mutual funds (except for three) in 2000 because their annual expenses were quite large when evaluated over a ten year period.

What is interesting is since 1988, I have achieved a compounded annual return on my IRA of just over 17%. Stocks that pay dividends and no annual expenses fees have probably helped my overall return.
