I would look at the transition to IP in a much broader context. For incumbents, it will generally begin in the core network and migrate out to the edge. Everyone, all incumbents worldwide, are in some stage of migrating their cores to IP, with Cingular being our largest customer. This opportunity alone is immense. We have been told by the CEO and CTO many times we are the only game in town for a large scale IP core upgrade, we are simply waiting for them to happen. It is quite possible all US carriers are already in the deployment stage, but only Cingular/ATT has been announced.

The edge opportunity comes in multiple forms, new wireline entrants(Carphone Warehouse, Vonage, etc.), new wireless entrants(WIMAX), and then the three primary incumbent providers - wireline, wireless, cable. We have run the table for the new entrants. BT is the most aggressive wireline incumbent and we just displaced their original selection to provide Class5 access, I expect ATT(selected Lucent, failure to perform) is in the process of doing the same and hope VZ(selected Nortel, failure to perform) does also. Everyone else is in the selection process. Wireless incumbents need to see their air interface upgraded first, but we should begin to see IP Voice apps with EV-DO RevA. Cable deployed a hybrid model initially, we need them to also move along their upgrade path before they need Sonus.

While WIMAX is a great opportunity in that it is all-IP and plays perfectly into what Sonus offers, it is but one of a myriad of opportunities out there.
