Hi Jim. Yes, I've heard similar sanguine views, some even going as far as to suggest that good will come out of the present mess, although I'm quite certain that they aren't the same individuals who are now shedding blood. As for the ST-Intel-Francisco deal, I had read that story earlier in the day, thanks. The thing that doesn't come out clearly in the ars technica account, unless you dig beneath the link to the ST press release, is that the three parties have merely agreed to extend closing until March of '08. Of course, there's no guarantee that credit conditions will level off or improve before then. Indeed, some forecasts are suggesting another year, or longer, before the anchor drags mud.
