mish i wrote "someone" you suggested "everyone"

but there is room for almost everyone to improve their status if they work at it. unless there are mental restrictions or physical restrictions. even in those cases people can achieve higher than others in that same competitive group.

for example you bring up phD... just because they have the iq, and strong interest in book learning.. doesn't mean they take risks, or can take conflict with another person, can supervise, and make judgements. i worked with some very smart guys who could never decide to decide.. at every meeting it was procrastinate and study further. i think Clinton was a good example of it with polls , avoid conflict, push off on things vs coming to action.

Highly educated phd.. may not be a high achiever because of lack of interest, bored in daily life, work, etc. or perhaps lazy. of course many are high achievers because it took that to get the phd for a lot of them.

I think i left my post to basic h.s. or equiv. moving up the org.. or labor work place. like brick layer, electrician, truck driver, or obtain degree nights, they do not have to remain in the old neighborhood and collect unemployment or welfare benefits the rest of their life.

if i recall the subject was those untrained being able to get ahead in this country , for example wal mart. i doubt we were think phd at the time.

If everyone had a PhD then PhDs would be collecting garbage.

OT: that made me laugh. I work at a startup with 40 employees, of whom about 60% have PhD's. Your comment is so accurate :)
