Hi Lizzie,

I'm in the same boat as you. I've been looking at the '08 version and not sure that I want to upgrade. I'm also using the '05 version. Why did you say the '05 version is going away? I haven't read anything about support being discontinued. I do know that at some point the download feature will be discontinued.

If you decide to upgrade, I would suggest that you check to see if Costco is selling the '08 version. Normally, they are $20 cheaper than Quicken charges.

Hi Lizzie,

I was at Costco today and saw Quicken 2008 Premier on sale for $62 so I bought the program. Had been using Quicken 2005.

The upgrade was smooth, but it took about 20 to 30 minutes to complete. If you don't register the program, you don't get the free quotes or program updates. That's one way to get some personal information.

IMO, the program is a repackaging of Quicken 2005. I haven't explored all the features, but those that I have explored are essentially the some as in Quicken 2005.

Personally, I think the program is just bloated, and Intuit can eliminate a lot of the features and I probably would never know they were gone.

In any event, if you have the extra bucks and want to give it a try, go ahead. If you do, let me know what you think.
