He knows what he is doing. The dollar's fall has already started to restructure the US economy. The trade deficit fell to 5% of GDP last quarter. I won't be surprised if US manufacturing comes back in a big way in 2008. The US will not avoid recession, but I expect the trade deficit to be in the low single digits in a year. I wonder who will be the consumer of last resort then.
