yep thats my typical story when upgrading.

Last time I upgraded which was some older version to 2005, so yes this was a while ago, all my custom reports that I have for taxes didn't come over correctly and I needed to recreate them. Even now the ones I recreated have an annoying problem which is that it say "new categories have been added since you setup this report" rather than just opening the report. You would think I could just say "ok" and that popup would go away until some NEW categories were added after that time, but no to get rid of that you have to recreate the report.

What is the "security name"? I'm not familiar with this feature.

Still using 2005 and don't intend to upgrade until Quicken stops supporting it. Would like very much like to install an improved version, but I haven't been able to discern much difference in the upgrades. Truly not a matter of cost, but a concern of the upgrade corrupting my data files.

Can't imagine how successful Intuit would be if they ever gave customers a fair shake with Quicken. Yet, I have many business clients using Quick Books with few complaints, and I have used Turbo Tax for over 10 years and highly recommend it.
