FF, i read in the paper that private insurers currently pay only 36% of the healthcare bill RIGHT NOW. citizens pay 15% and state and federal government pays the rest - that's about 49%.

the system will collapse either way. right now, over 30% of the private insurance money goes to something other than providing medical services. this waste is somehow good waste in the eyes of some, though.

private industry is driving 7%+ inflation in medical care. if it continues to escalate at this rate, society will do something to change the system.

also, i can't imagine a more unhealthy person than michael more to take up the propaganda for universal healthcare. he should clean up his diet and exercise program - it is actions like that which will reduce the stress on any system in place.
