I think one can reasonably argue that the crisis is here.

Also, why do you worry with who the candidate is? It seems to me that you always should vote for the party that best reflects your beliefs and understanding of the issues and problems that face the country??????

The Republican and Democratic parties are totally different in their philosophies and approach to problem solving. Each has a different view of the role of government and this will always shape what the candidate does after election, don't you think, no matter what they say during the campaign.

Bill Safire returned to the times for his once a year predictions (usually wrong but always interesting). He has a McCain Bloomberg ticket. With bloomies money, it gives mccain a great chance to appeal to non republican indys and lieberman dems. Meanwhile Bloomberg today started the mechanics going to enable him to run if he desires come the spring. Chatter is he will run if obama, mc cain, or giuliani not heading up respective tickets.
