My best friend has a PhD in economics and has told me on several occasions that as long as minimum wage doesn't come close to the going rate for skilled labor (which I think he said is about $14/hr right now), increases in minimum wage should not have adverse effects on the economy. If you need me to, I can probably get him to post a bit on the subject.

Yes, that's what I claim. Now I suppose if you raised the minimum wage to $70K a year it might be problematic.

Why are you so invested in keeping a "working poor" class?
