Thanks for taking the time to do a detailed reply...I've been doing resource investing seriously for about 5 years, starting with oil and uranium, later into PMs. I have much the same philosophy, but still need to better develop a discipline not to chase something when it's running and sell some of it instead. I recognize the "herd mentality" and need to fight it. All said, I've done well in those years, but not enough to live off of (yet).

Quite a post pogo ... the eternal saw-off between patience a/k/a the courage of your convictions vs. the next shiney object that passes by - and there's always something you want a little piece of

It is not a normal state in the human condition to be satisfied with what we have in hand, especially when given little buy/sell buttons right here on the desk ... experience has taught me to exercise patience, at the same time rules were made to be broken, even self-made rules - only way i can do this is to split things in two, with the majority of p.f. in fundamentally based picks with known value, development plays almost entirely, bought according to a plan and then left alone pretty much completely, and then play flyers and little bottomfish and all the shiney things with maybe one third of p.f. at most ... so you get the feeling of participating both ways out of that, and over time it's worked out

In re the Silver Valley, i think Loach here has his teepee situated nearby, and may know a thing or two about all the little companies [there is a Shoshone shsh.pk, don't know anything about it but love the name] - Member 9113675
