I agree with your logic but why are the courts voting against Qcom? Is there no one at the Q that cannot defend our position or we did we steal the patents without paying for them ? If the Federal Judge set the royalties rates that high for Brcm what should Q set their rates at for WCDMA patents that do own?

JeffreyHF- It would seem that Qualcomm's fee schedule is frandly and that Broadcom has fired it's last bullet. You are right in assuming Broadcom has committed suicide because based on this and the San Diego ruling Qualcomm doesn't have to license their IPR to Broadcom or if they do then Broadcom has patent ambushed the industry. Either way they may have won a couple of battles but in the end they are out of the mobile business. In addition the EU now has an example of what the US COURTS believe should be the appropriate fee schedule for chips,well above what Qualcomm is currently charging.
