Scratchy, this must indeed be a Happy New Year thus far for you. It seems that in yet another display of avarice and hypocrisy, Broadcom's IPR would not get passthrough rights to the handset vendors, evidenced by Verizon's handset based royalties (likely underwritten by Qualcomm), in addition to the new chipset royalties. The total chipset royalties that will be charged from these 3 peripheral patents will alone be a multiple of what Qualcomm charges its licensees for all of its vast chipset IPR. If there is a Qualcomm left for the EC to disembowel, this should be helpful to the then little shop from San Diego.
