January 1 is Country Joe's birthday. (Todd Snider wouldn't lie, unless you offered him a joint to lie <G>) But, how did a guy born in Washington, D.C. and, after living most of his life in Berkeley, California (his mother was on the City Council forever), get to be called "Country?" I think I know the answer. I used to drink a milk called "Berkeley Farms." It's ad on the radio and tv was, "Farms in Berkeley?" I never saw them, but that must have been where Joe grew up. <G>

"One, two, three
What are we fighting for?
Don't know and I don't give a damn
Next stop is Vietnam?
And it's five, six, seven
Open up the Pearly Gates.
Ain't no time to wonder why
We're all gonna die." en.wikipedia.org
