Edwards and Hillary CANNOT win the general election with just the votes of democrats. That is one of Obama's main arguments. Obama can win the votes of independents and moderate republicans, something Hillary or Edwards will never do, especially Hillary. It is not Obama's fault that Edwards doesn't seem to be able to raise substantial amounts of money. Obama's in favor of public financing of campaigns but he knows he MUST play the game to win in 2008. It is not Obama's fault that Hillary is accepting lobbyist's money. Those candidates need to take responsibility for their own problems and stop blaming Obama. Without Obama in the race, Edwards may not even be considered a viable alternative to Hillary because she most likely would have run away with the race months ago. Obama is the only candidate that can and will defeat Hillary. Just my view.
