Yes, oil is still a big deal but only from a backward-looking point of view. Looking forwards, oil will have the same economic effect as horseshoes do now. It will be BIG for a few decades, then will become one of those things like sulphuric acid which were big once upon a time. Cyberspace is the biggie. Oil came with the industrial revolution which replaced our muscles. Cyberspace is a much bigger deal as it is replacing brains. Mqurice
