Question on splitting the company - Paul said that splitting would do nothing in the near term except maybe affect the status of negotiations.

The injunctions would still apply to QTL, but as Paul stated, it could provide a change in the negotiations.

More broadly, I believe that QCT currently has the best portfolio of WCDMA/HSDPA chipsets in the industry. Unfortunately, the stigma of QTL will keep them from ever hitting their 50% market share goal. Over the long-term, a stand-alone QCT will have the ability to win business from all of the major handset manufacturers.

Unfortunately, PJ's answer to the split question sounded exactly the same as it has for the last two years.

A question on the 4 cents put aside from earnings for legal matters - was this decision included in that estimate? The answer was that Q never anticipated the severity of this judge's order and this order is different than anything they ever expected.

IMHO it is so bad that it is appealable. The whole case is because of the tainted instructions to the jury of willful infringement, etc.
