Public lands got a work over too.

Dago Peak became Italian Peak. Squaw Creek and Papoose Creek became something I can't spell or pronounce. I don't know what Squaw Peak became. Can't find it anymore.

Things are not all bad, however. This particular peak retained its original name. Decorum requires that you see for yourself. firelookout.net

There are rumors that Bear Mountain was once called Bare A__ Mountain and Weitas Butte was once Wet A__ Butte. That may be questionable, as there are other explanations.

Fortunately, as most Americans are not bilingual The Grand Tetons never got worked over. The Heavenly Twins in the Bitterroot Range were sufficiently subtle that they retained their original name.

There may be a shift in attitude taking place. Nice to know not EVERYONE is hypersensitive.
