You have obviously confused me with somebody else. Ron Paul is in favour of a gold standard [I think] and maybe that's what you mean by a "golden age" of bygone times. I disagree that times were better previously [of course they were in some respects but not overall] and I disagree that a return to a gold standard is a good idea. In fact, I am plotting an overthrow of the state run fiat currencies and the gold standard [still used in some places]. I also disagree that regulations were solutions to problems and ipso facto a good thing. They are more normally solutions to needing electorate votes, meaning they are often bribes. "Vote for me and look how much money I'll send your way". Mqurice
