Bob, RE "these low priced stocks are not marginal"

No, that's not the reason. I've bought plenty of stocks under $5 and never had a problem, only ASYT (although I do understand that there are other stocks on the list besides ASYT). I was already told by my branch manager that I wouldn't get an answer no matter how high I went up into Scottrade. I haven't talked with BofA again yet.
As for Scottrade, my days there are limited. They are way too restrictive. They do not allow shorting of stocks less than $5. They do not allow naked option selling. Just option buying and covered calls. That's for anyone, it's a company policy, it's not a matter of my option level. I don't think they even allow covered puts.

FWIW, I had no problem with a buy order this morning at Fidelity for ASYT.

So far, "theOX"'s idea of negative net tangible assets sounds
like a logical reason, but why they can't just tell me that is disconcerting, and gives Kirks theory some merit. The way ASYT stock has been acting lately, it wouldn't surprise me.

Eric.
