You're the one that makes statements like this in reference to social security.

It is probably the only way we stand a chance of dismantling this socialist program.

IMHO every person who accepts responsibility for their own actions is already saving for their retirement in multiple accounts including IRAs and other defined contribution plans.


Now that shows a very astute understanding of the economy, LOL.

Talk about the mother of all recessions.....yikes!!!!

peter your question on raising wages depends entirely on what is making them raise......during the 70s we had inflation(as opposed to increased shared profits or shrinking labor pool) leading wage increase demands...that in turn led to greater inflation...and remember all those strikes!

it required monetary teightening ,business failure and high unemployment to permit a return to price stability which in turn set the stage the economic blast off of the 1980s.
