Right wing fascists are ex-nation. They do not care about country and have no allegiance to anything but themselves, their people and, most of all, their personal bank accounts.

They have no problem taxing and stealing from the US as they do not see themselves as Americans. Fiscal responsibility, therefore, consists only of fiscally enriching themselves regardless of whom or what it damages in the process.

1. Get power
2. Get money
3. Repeat

When the US ATM goes dry they will stash their money elsewhere and pick on someone else.

at the same time my government is at war in two countries while running up deficits and IOUs at an unprecedented rate.

Unprecedented? But the federal deficit has been falling year by year for the last five years, due not to spending cuts, but to the 40% rise in federal tax intake since the Bush tax cuts.

But I don't blame you if you haven't heard these numbers. They haven't exactly made the headlines. They are true, nonetheless.

<I guess I'm different but I would gladly pay more in taxes to help improve our national debt and help shoulder some of the burden for our FP exploits. No one seems to want to sacrifice anything today.>

You are aware that you can write as big a check as you want to the IRS aren't you ?

There are many ways to support the war effort aside from paying higher taxes.... regardless of your tax bracket. The post office has assorted size boxes that cost less than $20.00 each that you can send to any one of the middle east fronts stuffed with anything from twinkies to dvds.

If I knew more taxes would not be for more spending I too would be willing to pay more. Without that insurance - more taxes simply means more spending. Frankly - the political mantra this year should be "its the spending stupid"!

As for your personal desire to be helpful - let me suggest charitable contributions. I suggest Covenant House as a prime candidate.
