Very well said KLP, and I'm thinking our Fathers knew this when they wrote our laws. I'm thinking they were very tired of having to grab their gun every time someone decided he wanted something different and bullied (or worse) his neighbors into submission. Fortunately for us, the majority of civil minded individuals understood and accepted the premise that we all have a stake in this thing we call life and are capable of creating laws that are sensible and fair. And even though those laws restrict us in some ways, they allow the majority a freedom that didn't exist before they were accepted by society. We can change our future, but it's pretty hard to change everyone else into your version of the future to match the past.
