"The main difference I see between Dems and Repubs when it comes to finances is that one taxes and spends and the other borrows and spends."

Exactly right. Which is the fiscally superior solution for the country? What we all really want is a government that taxes as little as possible to cover it's obligations.

It's what we obligate ourselves to pay for that makes the difference. Some of us would rather take care of our poor, old and sick than engage in ruinously expensive foreign pissing matches that solve nothing.

"That should always be the case Bob. The main difference I see between Dems and Repubs when it comes to finances is that one taxes and spends and the other borrows and spends. "

They will spend more than the added taxes because will not have the guts to say what their programs will really cost. Either way we loose. Neither party is worth a crap on this point. Divided government may be our only hope.
