Piper Jaffray maintains a Buy rating and a $52 price target on QUALCOMM (Nasdaq: QCOM).

The firm said that its December channel checks indicate strong sell-through trends for several different QUALCOMM products: its CDMA and WCDMA handsets. Specifically, Piper Jaffray noted that AT&T store managers are "proactively" pushing 3G phones and products, as the last 7 out of 9 phones launched at AT&T have been 3G phones. Also, the firm sees QUALCOMM chipsets in 17 out of 22 WCDMA products currently offered by AT&T.

Piper's Samsung and LG checks also indicated a market share gain in QUALCOMM's 3G devices on a month-over-month basis for December.

QUALCOMM Incorporated designs, manufactures, and markets digital wireless telecommunications products and services based on its CDMA technology and other technologies.
