That's fine. I don't buy the "persecuted victim Christian" myth and was just interested to see what you might present to substantiate you claim. If you don't wish to support your statement that is fine by me.

I don't have a problem with Jesus or what he taught. Unfortunately there are different interpretations and people have to choose which one they think is most true to what Jesus would want. Just because I don't accept your version of what Jesus stood for doesn't mean that I am wrong or that I hate Jesus.

Personally I think that those who are trying to make out our current world as a battleground between Christians and all other faiths have a warped world view. It actually is the exact mirror image of many Moslems. The attitude is "you must believe what I believe or you are my enemy". This in my opinion is NOT an American attitude. Nor do I see it as a Christian attitude. To demonize those who believe differently than you do is to go against Jesus's teaching to hate the sin and not the sinner. And to make it in to a military confrontation disobeys the commandment thou shalt not kill.

That being said I think it is important to take a stand against evil in the world, personally. For that reason I could never vote republican because overall they represent a gilded age classism that I disagree with and think is immoral.
