gg with emerging markets booming this talk about Gold and Dark Times seem surreal to me.

People who put their money in the wrong place and wrong assets are going to be hammered.

People who had put money in the right place and on the right thing, will do well.

Land, tractor, ammunition, rifles, fuel, food, seeds, water supply = much more traditional values than gold.

In Auckland casino, Chinese galore toss $100 notes on the table and litter the roulette tables with gold-coloured chips. Gambling isn't a monopoly of Chinese, but there are a lot of them.

Speculation, gambling, mass hysteria - China has its share. Gold is perfect as an instrument of gambling, hoarding, feeling safe.

In Hong Kong, one cannot buy land, a tractor, gun, fuel, etc ... so gold has more appeal.
