I did have to call our son once and I could have stayed at the ritz for a night for the same price.

I have my carrier turn off the roaming from their end, so I don't accidently use it...one never knows when that happens... Also have an MCI phone calling card from Costco for $20 for 675 minutes....That works slick when we go on vacation. However, it is harder to find payphones....

Canada still has lots of them, and if we go again, I'll get an international calling card from Costco....
