To echo your choice, I am an ex republican turned democrat so that I could caucus for Obama in Nevada on the 19th.

John McCain...is no darling of the Republican's since he ran interference on the immigration issue. He essentially shot himself in the foot with those that want a controlled border,

I would hope that whoever is elected president in the fall uses some of their political capital to get the illegal immigration issue off of the table as quickly is possible. I would suggest that the ultimate solution, regardless of who is elected president, will not be far from the position advocated by Bush and McCain, perhaps with some greater border enforcement. Good luck with that fence.

The votes will be there to get it done. Actually, they were there last year but the Democrats didn't have the fortitude to cut a deal with Bush. If you expect a Democratic president to take a harder line on this issue, you are going to be very disappointed.

McCain stood on principle and paid dearly for it.
