"I hear that global warming is out for 2008 and global cooling is in... researchers say that global warming has peaked and a global cooling trend has now started and will become evident by 2012, and it will peak by 2041..."

Some VERY DETAILED dates in that statement. Would require *a lot* of hard math and physics to establish any such definitive statement.

Wonder (since it's quite easy in the very large scientific community to find all kinds of different views and opinions...) just WHO these particular 'researchers' are... and so, how I can find them and read more of their arguments and the evidence they are building their positions upon?

"... also, that global warming and cooling trends have nothing to do with human activity but with solar activity..."

The solar cycle is one of NUMEROUS natural cycles which must be factored into any comprehensive examination of these climatology questions. (Still, the argument that 'human activities have ZERO impact on the Earth's climate' is most decidedly a heavily minority position.)

"I would provide a link, but it was a Fox news video report..."

Ah, so.
