While most of us use defense mechanisms like projection, some of us overdo these and consequently have a pathological sense of self and others. These people are generally unaware of their own pathologies and "blame" others for their mistakes and inadequacies while at the same time being dependent on others for information and guidance.

No need to name names but they are certainly abundant on SI.
