"Mississippi received a disproportionate share of the federal aid for recovery from Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma. "

What's wrong with that? The former RNC chair, Haley Barbour is governor in MS. By (R) thinking, they SHOULD get most of the bucks. That's why Bush did a TV spot at Haley's second home after Katrina, and almost tearfully promised to rebuild it.

" We don't know about the MS-LA breakdown of the 30% spent by August - which likely means there wasn't a grounds to complain about inequitable treatment of LA."

That is your guess. Got any proof?

No. Thats why I said likely. Because the site has an agenda. They gave the MS/LA breakdown of one statistic, but not another. My guess is reasonable.

Mississippi had 20% of the major or severe housing damage, but got 33% of the Community Development Block Grant funds.

A difference but hard to get excited about that small a discrepency.

Ultimately the complaints boil down to the Bush adm isn't doing enough to make sure local officials do their jobs.

Course its tough when you consider there are demonstrations whenever NO councilmen want to tear down substandard housing - see page of your original pdf.
