It was a symbol. You put the Superferry next to the average Cruise Ship that docks in our ports weekly, and it looks like a toy. They used every argument possible, including that it was going so fast it was going to run over and kill whales. Absolute nonsense.

Makes sense that eco-leftys would go after ships. The super container ships are what makes the global economy possible. Expect to see more about how they are destroying the oceans and must be outlawed.

These big Catamarans kick up quite a wake. I suspect the econuts are griping about wave damage to shorelines. The Hawaii ferry threads the channel between Molokai and Lanai on the way into Maui. I could see some added wave action there. Also, that is an area where the Humpbacks have their babies in the spring.
