Most Americans support

Most Americans understand freedom. They wouldn't force feed medical care on anyone nor want it forced upon them.

a mixed economy of mainly private enterprise with some state provided or guaranteed public services (national security, education, health insurance).

That's irrelevant. People living under the dictates of a government is not socialism nor capitalism. It's authoritarianism.

Your reply doesn't address the point you quote.

You can have a fully capitalist medical care system, a fully socialist system, or anything in between, without forcing medical care on competent adults unless not doing so causes a clear danger to others.
