It is more about the spaces between lengthy items in a column and less lengthy ones.

and
abcdefghijkl TAB TAB #

makes them misaligned, so I am not sure how he would get to easily reformat his spreadsheet to overcome that and make a tabular format for result reporting.

in theory we should be able to use the portfolio function for every participant in the contest. I believe the portfolio can be modified and updated with game purchases and sales. I'm not certain who would have to update the portfolios. Each person might have to perform this operation themselves.
