I don't think those are American industries any longer. There are industries whose major stockholders are in America, but whose jobs and profits and sales are elsewhere that are doing good.


True to a degree, but they still have plants here and their headquarters are still here.

Those who benefit this country (and not just a few individuals in this country) are doing poor, very poor.

I think you are underestimating the impact of the companies in these booming industries. Companies like Dynamic Materials, RTI Metals, Alleghany Tech. and others all have sizeable plants in the states. In fact, they have been spending considerable sums on expanding and upgrading these facilities. Its in part why there has been a commercial building boom in the country for the past 5 years.
