Iranian boats harass US Navy ships in Strait of Hormuz -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Associated Press , THE JERUSALEM POST Jan. 7, 2008 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In what is being called a serious provocation, Iranian Revolutionary Guard boats harassed and provoked three US Navy ships in the strategic Strait of Hormuz, officials said Monday. US forces were on the verge of firing on the Iranian boats in the early Sunday incident, when the boats ended the incident and turned and moved away, said a Pentagon official. "It is the most serious provocation of this sort that we've seen yet," said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on the record. The incident occurred at about 5 a.m. local time Sunday as a US Navy cruiser, destroyer and frigate were transiting the strait on their way into the Gulf. "Five small boats were acting in a very aggressive way, charging the ships, dropping boxes in the water in front of the ships and causing our ships to take evasive maneuvers," the Pentagon official said. "There were no injuries but there very well could have been," he said, adding that the Iranian boats turned away "literally at the very moment that US forces were preparing to open fire" in self defense. He said he did not have the precise transcript of communications that the two forces exchanged, but the Iranians radioed something to the effect that "we're coming at you and you'll explode in a couple minutes." In another incident off its coast, Iranian Revolutionary Guard sailors last March captured 15 British sailors and held them for nearly two weeks. The 15 sailors from HMS Cornwall, including one woman, were captured on March 23. Here's the major problem. Bariatric surgery requires a lot of medical personnel to be on hand. The idea that ALL of them would keep quiet while Huckabee lied about diet and exercise is not too likely. Now, the lies he told about the cross in the background of his Xmas speech are so obvious we don't need the surgery lie to say the guy lies for political advantage.

LTA, 110 lbs in a year is a lot of weight in a short period of time. i do think it is possibler to lose that much weight, though, depending on the diet and exercise program. for example, robin lost 45 lbs in six months on the diet - and she doesn't strike me as someone in the gym every day. pbs.org extrapolating that out, she would've lost nearly 100 lbs in one year. even more amazing is that her favorite part of the diet was that it made her feel so much better. if huck was on a zone look-a-like diet and really went after the exercise portion, he could've lost that amount of weight in that time frame. he isn't a legit candidate anyway - he'll soon be cast to the side of the presidential hopeful boat. for reference, Rodney lost over 110 lbs in six months after having the bypass surgery. pbs.org
