Well.. that was a huge gap to close.. And, of course, it depends upon what part of Europe we're referring to. But I don't see how a strong Euro helps them with unemployment so long as their primary economy remains export driven. Chinese products are even more competitive vis-a-vis Europe than they are in the US.

But here are some figures for recent unemployment:

However, I will admit that the corporate tax rates (unbelievably) have become more favorable than US rates.. And that does assist their competitiveness and internal growth.
