"Its a funny thing to me that FEMA handled a bunch of hurricanes in FL fine the year before Katrina, but suddenly became incompetent in 2005."

2004. An election year. In a swing state.

Need I point out the obvious?

Of course, you guys on the left are picturing this as Bush deciding to f*** NO because its Democratic and black and Republicans are racists. Thats just not true.

Of course not. Its just strangely coincidental. And of course, FLA was the home base of Bush's brother and there happened to be an impending election. Just more coincidence that relief efforts in FLA were far, far superior to those in LA. In fact, there was a photo opt with GW and Jeb handing out ice to Floridians. Where was GW during and after Katrina hit....in San Diego, fiddling.........I mean strumming his guitar for money.

Pay attention, Brumar, this is how you all finagle out of never it being your fault. You are the kings of denial and at blaming others for your downfalls.

It is true that NO and LA have been poorly ruled for decades and that contributed mightily to NO's problems. LA did restrict people entering the state for relief purposes. I recall reading statements in the Houston paper by the Salvation Army and Red Cross explaining they weren't allowed in by LA state police.

FEMA was responsible for all relief efforts and the coordination of other relief agencies. FEMA was run by Republicans. Its FEMA that ultimately failed NO. Not surprising, considering the president of the US didn't much care what happened to NO.
