The markets never go straight up or down. The correction we have seen lately is clearly due to some very disturbing underlying problems, much of it due to the fact that every time the Reagan-era Supply Side borrow and spend is tried, it only works for about 4 years, then it's payback time. It took six years to get back on an even keel after the Reagan years. The Bush economy/debt is much worse, plus we now have Carter era type tripled gasoline prices so that means stagflation.

I would caution you to find safe havens for your money. The last time we had an economy like this was after the Vietnam war. Unfortunately for Carter's legacy, he inherited that economy. It's called stagflation and its a SOB.
