Tax cuts increase revenues like droughts increase water supply. I would think that would be common sense, but the myth the economic "conservatives" (actually a reckless bunch who do not conserve) belueve in it the old Voodoo Economics. GHW Bush was right when he ran against Reagan. Reagan's debt was huge when he left office and it took 6 years of recession to pay it off. Clinton left GW Bush a perfectly sustainable economy and Bush ruined it by returning to Reagan economics with a vengeance.

The attitude that tax cuts can cure all is moronic. What deep tax cuts (esp for the rich and big corps) actually do is gradually bankrupt the government, which is what righties really want. Remember what Reagan said "Government is the problem". Well, he was wrong. Only corrupt or inefficient goverment is a problem, and that can be fixed, as Clinton proved. And Bushies have also proven that we cannot trust unregulated corporations to be honest or to even care about our country or any of us. Corps are amoral. All they really care about, in most cases, is making as much profit as possible as fast as possible. But get rich quick schemes usually cost a lot later.
