<I thought there was a 20 year period of disinflation roughly lasting from 1983-2003?> What you are referring to is a period of relatively low inflation -- inflation held partly in check by favorable circumstances in terms of cheap credit, cheap energy and cheap credit. At no point was there a period of deflation in that time frame.
