But novelty presents an important opportunity. When the idea of adding a new restriction arises, we have the opportunity to stop, reflect, and evaluate it to see if we want to take that step. It's not that we would never want to impose another restriction. What I object to is the cavalier way we slide into them unexamined. If the step is weighed and a conscious decision is made to proceed, I can deal with that. It's the mindlessness that bugs me. It's not like there is no debate on this issue. They have analysed the piss out of it for generations.
