Another quarter heard from, producers vs. juniors. this is a Jan. 9 extract from a blog-type site called Minyanville. Seemed relevant.

"All of that said, the juniors are most definitely lagging the seniors right now (like Barrick Gold (ABX), Goldcorp. (GG), etc), which have hit new highs. Then again, that's what always happens early on during a rally. Look back at what the HUI did from the low in the summer of 2005 until December, and then look at what a stock like Minefinders (MFN) did back then. MFN fell during the most of the first portion of the HUI's rally but when it finally rallied in January, it doubled in 3 months..."

You could have shown me a similar list in June 2002, winter 2003, Fall/Winter 2005, May 2006 or August 2007 and say that the bull market is over based on all stocks being at lows. Hence most of these stocks recovered after the lows. The most recent high in juniors was last November. Now again the made a low in december and are heading higher.

The secular bull market has years to go. It will be interrupted by major correction or cyclical bear markets. As we speak today, the bull is intact. 2008 will likely see a first major correction/cyclical bear.. but that will not be the end of the world.
